Here is audience feedback I got from my magazine front cover which I am currently making and editing. The reason for getting audience feedback whilst making my front cover allows me to make any changes to a certain extent which will hopefully meet the consumers needs and expectations. The feedback allows me to gain experience on making magazine front covers and helps me identify where I need to Improve and what I'm doing right.
Here is a double page spread analysis which I have created on a double page spread from my chosen genre of my magazine. This task was essential for me to find out the key conventions, layout pictures and language from a professional magazine which I hope to take and later use in the magazine that I will be creating. Here is a brief outline of the layout I will be expecting to use when creating my front cover for my music magazine. The cover consists of the basic codes and conventions which will satisfy and meet the demographics needs, along with some unique elements which help the magazine become a niche product of its own. The layout I have gone for is one that would be easy to navigate with a prof After creating a survey on 'survey monkey' for finding out key information about dance magazines from my peers, I needed to gather up my responses in order to meet my future demographics expectations. My feedback what I got included things like what colours I should be using on my magazine, how much I should be selling it for, what artists to include using knowledge of popular modern ones, which other magazines to take advice on and what sort of special offers I should be including. This helped me as now I can use what I have found to my advantage. The results I got generally came out quite positive, with different sorts of answers. Artists which I was advised to use were people like, David Guetta, Example, Chase and status, Chris Brown and Calvin Harris. Magazines which are seen as popular now are mainly ones like Mixmag. Prices were generally reasonable ones, like £2.00 which would come out The top font is my final decision on which typography for the mast head on my Dance magazine I will be using. The reason for this is because it reflects dance music in the way its a bold yet flexible text, emphasising the movement of dance music. The other three texts also relate to dance music. Consisting of small dots, they could be seen as individual lights which are seen in dance music to express the brightness and colour of the genre. I needed to create a mission statement showing exactly how I wanted to get my magazines message across on how I wanted it to be. This included information about things like the name of my magazine, the genre and what I am aiming to do with it. From this I went on to talk about finding my target audience, showing what demogrpahic I will be aiming to get the attention of and why. Finally I had to show how I aim to get the appeal of my target audience, by using things like colour, lY Here is a finished essay I typed up on word, using all the correct feedback I have been given, and all the analysis I made when I was making a double page spread analysis earlier on publisher, It allowed me to crate an essay to prove my understanding of the layout and structure of how a proffessional has done it. Expressing that i now have a clear understanding of how to create a double page spread through my essay, I am now one step closer to creating my very o Here is a double page spread found which I had to analyse to gain further experience on how to layout, structure and create my very own double page spread. The task was to deduct information from the image, which could be from the typography, the image, the artical or smaller things like the grey boxes and page numbers. The task showed that every double page spread needs certain connotations which are vital to portray a professional image which the consumers can recognise. These are factors which I aim to take into account when creating my own double page spread
For this Task I had to create a questionaire for my front cover and contents of my magazine which I have now created. I aim to gain a clear understanding on weather I have succeeded in how I wanted the magazine to look and feel. I can then add extra things which have been mentioned withing the questionaire to make be the best it possibly can be. Overall the questionaire came out with positive results, with general short but effective feedback which I can now begin to use to ensure my contents and front cover is to the best it possibly can be. Words like 'Interesting' 'Eye Catching' 'Focused' and 'Clear' give me clear indication that im achieving what I aimed, to some extent. Although, there was some effective critisism. On one of the questionaires it mentioned that I should make the background more appealing on the front cover. As I clearly needed a house style, I thought the best thing to do would make the background more flash, using a different effect, which I would then also use on the contents page.
Here is my finished contents page that I will be using on this issue of Aquinas Magazine. The contents page I have created has tried to tie in with the front cover, having a clear house style and using pictures relating to the front cover so that the audience can see a professional look. I will aim to get some feedback from my peers using a questionaire on what I possibly need to add and include, and if I have a acheived what I wanted when producing it.
